Teambuilding for Leaders

This course will help you understand and practice some of the more widely used team tools employed in successful organisations. Ultimately you will learn to make your team more productive and focused.
 
We cover the following:

  • Understanding the company’s values and how this influences internal and client relationships
  • The difference between ‘managing’ and ‘leading’ a team
  • Essential teambuilding skills: toolbox of techniques
  • Interactive team games to understand work styles and how they influence results
  • Different communication styles
  • How teams develop and perform (forming, storming, norming and performing)
  • Developing an individual’s skills within the team
  • The importance of emotional Intelligence
  • Coaching and feedback role play around specific situations


Managing the Matrix

With increasing globalisation, faster development times and flatter organisations, the ability to work within a matrix structure (i.e. reporting into two or more bosses) is becoming an increasingly important skill.

This course covers the understanding, structures and processes inherent in a matrix and the skills needed to navigate projects successfully (with a particular focus on communication skills).

The day is built around an interactive building exercise managed by teams with conflicting objectives. The ability of the teams to work out how to resolve conflicts and become great communicators will be reflected in how successfully they complete the final task.
