High Performance Negotiation Skills Training

This Negotiation Skills Training course teaches some techniques for the more experienced negotiator. This learning is based on real experiences our coaches have acquired in negotiation with companies like Unilever, P&G, Pirelli and Guinness, but also from experience dealing with Madonna, Olympic athletes, world boxing champions and film stars (dealing with the individuals and their highly paid legal teams!). This blend of hard-nosed commercialism and some colourful stories make sure the day is a very memorable experience.

The session will be built around the needs of the group but we typically cover the following areas:
  • Comparison of different negotiation models
  • Understanding the relationship: what needs to be built, preserved and protected
  • Creating a ‘Beacon’ objective for the negotiation
  • The importance of being creative and flexible
  • Handling difficult people
  • Spotting the tricks
  • Avoiding traps
  • How to say ‘No’
  • Vocal skills and body language
  • Great listening skills
  • Using the negotiation space
  • The art of questioning
  • Cross cultural negotiation
  • Repairing trust

The day is spent entirely on role-plays and team/one on one coaching on voice and body language. The role-plays are based on actual situations so the attendees can compare how well they do versus what happened in the real world.
