No matter how confident an individual is and how great their presentation skills, it counts for nothing if their content is poor. Using a range of creative and persuasive techniques, plus inspiration from storytellers, this course shows how Great Content is the essential foundation of a great presentation and the ultimate cure for 'death by PowerPoint'. The course also explores how the presentation world is moving on and investigates new techniques and methods to win the attention of the digital generation. Use is made of Internet access to source materials and information.Participants will learn to:
- Understand how the brain deals with presentations and what triggers interest and belief change
- Really get under the skin of their audience emotionally and psychologically
- Have a clear idea about the behaviour change they want and the objectives to achieve that
- Engage, persuade and convince an audience
- Be more creative and use ideas, stories and themes
- Develop inspiring titles to hook an audience
- Explore different ways they can structure a presentation
- Keep content lean and mean
- Use storylining to focus their planning and reduce the time required to write presentations
- Appreciate the power of visuals and words
- Find ‘killer facts’ and ‘tipping points’ to make their case
- The importance of audio-visual synchronisation
- Handle complex information like graphs and charts
Participants create a presentation during the course of the day, building in the learning as they do each module. They have a choice of working on something outside the work environment or on the next big presentation they have to do.
